Is this a good or bad news as FG of Nigeria set to be paying 5k to unemployed Nigerians?
The government explained that the initial delayed in the commencement of the payment was because it was not captured in the 2015 budget promising that it will be included in the 2016 budget.
This disclosure was made by the minister of youth and sports, Barr. Solomon Darlong when he visited the national secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Abuja, The Nation reports.
Darlong noted that arrangement for the payment will take effect from 2016.
He told newsmen that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration will fulfill every of his campaign promises including payment of N5, 000 stipends to unemployed Nigerians.
The minister said: " I want the youths to understand that every promise must be backed up by budgetary provision and our promise to pay N5,000 is not contained in the 2015 budget. So, definitely, it is going to begin in 2016 as we have made budgetary allocations for that.
"We are committed to the campaign promises of creating jobs, providing wealth creation and combat poverty. We have embedded in our manifesto things that we are translating to reality.
"Some of the youth empowerment programmes that are ongoing, we are busy reviewing them to ensure that they are more viable and people oriented. We are also looking at the possibility of realigning some of them to our vision so that in the final analysis, it will add value to the people ."
Meanwhile, Senator Ben Murray Bruce representing Bayelsa state at the National Assembly had reportedly explained to Buhari how he can effectively pay the N5,000 he promised to pay unemployed Nigerians.

8 men arrested for thug killing in Africa
The suspects, Animashaun Akeem, Qudus Atakoro, Abduramon Onisemo, Muritala Oyejobi, Tabiu Mujib, Iyaniwura Idris, Tayo Oladimeji, and Segun Adeyemi, were arrested by the police at the scene of the murder, unfortunately, others escaped.
It was gathered that on November, 15, 2015, at about 1pm, thugs armed with cutlasses, axes, guns and other dangerous weapons attacked Akeem Ajanaku at Ido-Olowa/Enu-owa
According to Supol Segun Adebayo, who reported the case at the Adeniji-Adele Central Police Station, Akeem Ajanaku, was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital by the police and other sympathizers; where he died.
Tayo Oladimeji, who was supposedly one of the suspects denied being involved. He said:
> "I was at home sleeping on a Saturday morning when I heard my mum's voice asking if I wont go to work. Reluctantly, I got up from my bed and headed towards the bathroom to take my bath when I was arrested.''
> "I don't know anything. I was in my shop that Monday when policemen came to arrest me, saying I was involved in last Sunday's fracas on Lagos Island. The only encounter that I had was when some unknown guys came to me at Oduduwa bus stop and collected my wristwatch.

Facebook to train Nigerian senators on use of apps
Senators are to receive free Facebook training, says the Chief of Staff to the President of the Senate, Sen. Isa Galaudu on Thursday in Abuja.
Galaudu, in a letter sent to the senators inviting them for the event, said the training was in line with the promise of the leadership of the 8th Senate to utilise the social media.
"Senators and their aides receive training on use of facebook in line with the promise of the President of the Senate to ensure more representative legislature using e-parliamentary tools.
"This is a partnership between the Office of the Senate President and Facebook.
"Senators and aides who wish to participate in the programme should please email with their full names.''
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the Facebook team, led by the African Head of Public Policy, will be in Nigeria at the weekend for the training slated for Monday.
According to the Special Assistant to the President of the Senate on Social Media, Bamikole Omishore, the training is at no cost to the senate as Facebook offered to conduct the training for free.

Couple settle love in court
Delivering judgement, the President of the court, Mr Ganiyu Awoyera, said the union stands dissolved, adding that there would be no refund of bride price.
The president of the court awarded custody of the two children to the petitioner, and urged her to take them to government hospital whenever any of them fell sick.
Awoyera also ordered the husband to pay the sum of N3, 000 every month per child for the upkeep of the children as well as take full responsibility for their education.
The court urged both parties to maintain the peace and keep away from trouble henceforth.
The petitioner, Grace had on Sept. 2 appealed to the court to dissolve 15-year-old union to her husband Moshood for alleged uncooperative attitude and maltreatment.
Grace said she married her husband in 2000 and the union was blessed with two children namely, Segun, 11, and Mofun Oluwa, one and half years.
According to Grace, her husband right from the inception of the marriage her husband had never cared for her and the children.
"I have no peace of mind since I married him; that was the reason why I packed out of his house in July 18, 2014.
"I beg the court to separate us so as to have peace of mind and to be able to take good care of my children," she pleaded with the court.

(SAD) Bashir Musa was killed while fighting over a girlfriend.
Trouble started last Friday when the deceased girlfriend, Aisha Sale, a student of Jigawa state Polytechnic who is alleged to be dating six others from the same university paid one of her boyfriend a visit in Yalwawa Quarters in Dutse.
It was learnt that the other boys including Musa who got wind of her visit stormed the house of the other boyfriend and a fight broke out leading to the death of the deceased.
Reacting to the incident, the Registrar of the university, Yusuf Ademu in a statement said the institution will make its position known to the public when the police are done with their investigation.
Confirming the tragedy, the Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Abdul Jinjiri noted that investigations revealed that the deceased died after a scuffle over a girlfriend.

KARIM BENZEMA ARRESTED OVER SEXTAPE
Benzema was reportedly placed in custody at a police station in Versailles in the same case that also saw former French striker Djibril Cisse arrested.
Benzema is now formally under a criminal investigation, but his lawyers are yet to make an official statement.

Republican businessman Matt Bevin was elected Kentucky's next governor on Tuesday,
Bevin, who rode Tea Party support to a narrow victory in a four-way Republican primary, soundly defeated State Attorney General Jack Conway, whose late October lead in the polls evaporated on election day.
" This is a chance for a fresh start ," said Bevin at his victory event, calling his candidacy an opportunity to change traditional politics. " It truly is, and we desperately need it. "
Republicans also were successful in securing a second term for Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, who easily defeated a little-known opponent in the conservative Southern state.
Kentucky's more hotly contested race reflected the partisan divide seen nationally over gay marriage and President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law in a contest to replace Democratic Governor Steve Beshear, who cannot run because of term limits.
Bevin, who has never before held elected office, won with 52.5 percent of the vote, compared to 43.8 percent for Conway, according to unofficial results with all precincts reporting.
His path to victory included courting religious conservatives after meeting with embattled Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis after she was jailed for defying a federal judge's order to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.
" I am ecstatic ," Davis said in a statement released by her attorneys at the conservative Liberty Counsel, adding that Bevin had prayed for her. " I will be forever thankful that he came to visit me while I was in jail ."
While Tea Party leaders celebrated a win for Bevin, a conservative known to challenge establishment Republicans, he also benefited from a late infusion of cash from the Republican Governors Association. The organization said it poured $2.5 million into the state during the final two weeks of the campaign and spent a total of $6 million on the race.
Bevin had pledged to roll back the expansion of Medicaid to provide health coverage to the poor under Obama's health plan as started by the current governor, which Conway had supported.
Although Kentucky voters routinely send Republicans to Washington, D.C., experts thought Conway had the advantage going into election day, given Democrats' enduring state-level strength in recent decades.
Bevin's lieutenant governor, Jenean Hampton, becomes the first African American elected to statewide office in Kentucky.
In Mississippi, Republicans also celebrated widely expected victories for party incumbents.
Gov. Bryant defeated truck driver Robert Gray, the surprise victor of a Democratic primary in which he did not spend money or seriously campaign. His low-budget campaign reflected the sorry state of the Mississippi Democratic Party, observers said.
Still, Democrats held off a challenge to one of the party's last statewide elected officers in the Deep South. Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood won a fourth term in office, with his opponent conceding late Tuesday night.
